On January 28th 2015 the second edition of TEDxZwolle will take place in ‘Nieuwe Buitensocieteit’ Zwolle (the Netherlands). The theme of the event will be ‘Climate, Active, Cities’.  One of the speakers will be the internationally known landscape architect Niek Roozen. Designing greener cities will be the starting point of his speech. In all his designs plant schemes play an important role. The projects are based on the Green City Philosophy, which was initiated during the Floriade 2002, showing the positive influence plants have on the improvement of our environment.

The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection. The X in TEDx stands for independently organised TED event. This programme of local, self-organised events brings people together to share a TED-like experience.

On the 28th of January, 15 people from various fields will briefly explain how they want to make the world a better place in presentations of no longer than 18 minutes. A talk can also be non-verbal (music, art, making or constructing something, etc.). The event is being organized by 20 regional organizations and expects an audience of around 750. The aim is to bring people together, conduct TED talks on concrete ideas, to promote learning, inspiration and wonder. And to encourage participants to hold meaningful discussions. During the preparation phase, TEDxZwolle works together with all the speakers to develop the talks.
