Leon Smet, secretary of the Dutch Royal Trade Association for Nursery Stock and Flower Bulbs Anthos, will present the Green City philosophy in a few presentations these coming weeks in Romania and Bulgaria. On behalf of iVerde, Mr. Smet will talk about the importance of ‘green’ in cities at meetings of municipal authorities and other interested parties in both countries.
The first presentation will be on September 26th, at the General Meeting of Romanian Association of Municipalities in Satu Mare, Rumania.
On Thursday October 23rd in the Bulgarian city of Pravets, 60 km from the capital Sofia, the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Bulgarian Association of Municipalities will take place. On that occasion Leon Smet will also present the Green City principles and ideas. One day earlier, on October 22nd, Mr. Smet will be the guest of the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria and the landscape architects in Bulgaria and will discuss the Green System of Sofia together with representatives of Sofia Municipality, landscapers, architects and designers. During his visit to Bulgaria, Leon Smet will also meet with the members of the Bulgarian Association of Ornamental Plants Nurseries and will hold a lecture for the students of the Faculty of Ecology and Landscape Architecture of the University of Forestry – Sofia.

The Green City aims to contribute to better use of ‘green’. This must contribute to the solution of problems in relation to air quality and water, preventing social decline and urban decay in order to make the city healthier and more attractive.
